Over the course of 12 days, I worked with 18 Lithuanian actors in Lithuania as the invited guest at Klaipeda Youth Theatre. The theatre has been operating with a permanent company since 2011 under the wings of Valentinas Masalskis film- and theatre actor. Keywords in their artistic practice are vitality, creativity and openness.

The central topic of the workshop was the idea of a leaking town, since the large outflow of people has represented one of the biggest problems for years: every year around 50 000 people, mostly young ones, leave Lithuania. This phenomenon is especially interesting in a port city: what could be a motivation for young people to stay when their city itself faces the sea and all the – largely envisioned – possibilities beyond the sea?
