Theatre and Crisis
WORKSHOP | Organised by Chantiers Nomades – professional training and theatre pedagogy centre
Maison Jacques Copeau
Le Pont-de-Claix (FR) | 2016
Le Pont-de-Claix (FR) | 2016
In my theatre practice, I have spent a lot of time studying theatrical forms in the past.
My aim is to find a passage between traditions of classical theatre and the innovative forms of media- and performing arts.
Together with the participants of the workshop, were are seeking to find answers to the following questions:
- What is a role?
- At which point may the actor's personality become a professional matter?
- How should we view specators? How should we deal with them?
- How can theatre contribute to social dialogue?
- Is the crisis of society a crisis of theatre, too?
- Who writes the text? Writer, director, actor or spectator?
- Does theatre have the right to take a position with regard to ethical issues? And to political issues?
- How can we use theatre traditions in an era of social and technological paradigm change?
- How can we use the Stanislavsky method in theatre actions?
- What is the link between realism, stylization and social commitment?
- What is Forum Theatre?
- What is theatre pedagogy? What is a participation film?
- What is community art?
- What are responsibilities and tasks of an artist in the 21st century?
Actors, circus artists, theatre and film directors, theatre and film experts were allowed to apply to the two-weeks workshop.
